Hi, I’m Lauren, the trainer behind Canine Confidence Club. I’ve worked with dogs for years in a variety of roles—training, daycare and boarding, and grooming. Those different roles gave me a well-rounded understanding of how dogs learn, communicate, and cope with the world around them. I’m a current member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), and I’m currently working toward Fear Free certification, CPDT-KA, and a B.S. in Animal Behavior.
My training philosophy is simple: be kind, be clear, and treat the dog as an individual. I use positive reinforcement and follow LIMA (Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive) standards. I don’t use aversive methods or tools—dogs deserve to feel safe while they learn, and owners deserve training that’s ethical, modern, and effective.
Being around dogs has always felt comfortable for me, almost like we understand each other by default. Working with so many different dogs and owners over the years made me realize how much confusion and misinformation is out there. These dogs weren’t stubborn or bad. They were confused, overwhelmed, and trying their best without the right support. Understanding the why behind a dog’s behavior is often the turning point for real progress.
What motivates me most is seeing real change. Hearing “what you suggested actually worked,” or watching a nervous dog finally relax and try something new, are moments that make this work incredibly meaningful for me. It's not just about training new cues or finally fixing that jumping problem... it's about helping people understand their dogs, so they can build a relationship built on mutual trust instead of mutual frustration.
My goal is to make training feel approachable, compassionate, and grounded in effective, science-backed methods. I’m here to support both you and your dog so learning feels good for everyone involved.
